The core team


Lim Siang Jin is GPA’s architect and takes on dual roles as managing director and editor. He has been in publishing since 1978, working in various capacities. A founder of The Edge, he has been the Group Managing Director of public-listed NexNews Bhd (now Berjaya Media Bhd) which published The Edge Malaysia, theSun, The Edge Financial Daily, Personal Money, OffTheEdge and Haven. He now runs his own publishing and consultancy company. 

David Lee Boon Siew is managing editor and brings to GPA 35 years of editorial experience in The New Straits Times, The Malay Mail and free newspaper theSun, where he last served as executive editor. He understands how the free model works in building readership and value for advertisers. 

 

Ann Teoh is contributing editor of GPA, bringing with her experience in journalism and corporate communications that spans more than 26 years. She has been editorial coordinator for theSun’s Education Focus for six years, and runs an editorial consultancy.  

 

Siaw Mei Li, GPA’s assistant editor, has written for leading Malaysian and global brands and for industry publications as a freelance journalist and copywriter. As a brand planner for an international customer relationship management agency, she has conducted market research in industries ranging from airlines and automobiles to healthcare and real estate development.

 

Linda Archibald is a former print media journalist, and a greenie at heart. She has more than 11 years of experience in the media industry, wearing different caps in journalism, film production and public relations. She also has experience in running an office for a Malaysian environmental coalition and in organising national-level environmental conferences.

 

 

Columnist


Dr Prasad Modak is chairman of Green Purchasing Network of India and executive president of Environmental Management Centre, Mumbai. Holder of a Doctorate in Environmental Engineering from Asian Institute of Technology, Bangkok, Prasad works closely with most United Nation bodies in the world and Development Financing Institutions such as the World Bank and Asian Development Bank.

 

Andrew McKillop is a former expert in policy and programming with the European Commission in Brussels. He writes and consults about the impact of oil prices on the economy and currently advises the ECOHABITAT sustainable housing and property development project near the French, Belgium and Luxemburg borders.

 

Shel Horowitz is an expert on ethical and green marketing. He is the primary author of Guerrilla Marketing Goes Green: Winning Strategies to Improve Your Profits and Your Planet

 

Creative & design


Khoo Kay Hong is an accomplished design consultant with print as well as the web. 

Among the major projects he has successfully completed are developing and launching the initial The Malaysian Insider news portal (2008–2009) and taking the Malaysian Advertising Awards online to its current website at kancilawards.com. 

Ongoing projects include branding for Think City, a Khazanah Nasional company in Penang, and producing the Kyoorius Design Magazine in India. His network of designer-partners extends to India and Europe.

 

Writers


Stephen Ng is a trained chemist but his career paths have taken him through sales and marketing, communications, public relations and journalism. 

Eleanor Chen worked for Malaysian PR consultancies before joining WWF where she learnt about the environmental and health aspects of pollution. Today, she writes for local environmental groups and community organisations on conservation and indigenous issues as well as health in relation to our environment. 

 

G Danapal is a professional journalist who now travels around Southeast Asia and beyond, providing media consultancy services on conservation and environmental issues in between his editorial duties with the Non-Aligned Movement’s (NAM) news network. He was a media consultant for UNDP’s project on the conservation and sustainable use of tropical peat swamp forests and associated wetland ecosystems in Malaysia. 

 

Ngam Su May is a writer, editor and publisher with more than 20 years experience. She started her journalism career in Malaysian Business magazine and did equity research writing in RHB Research Institute. Su May does editorial and publishing work for various clients. 

 

V K Shashikumar has in the past 15 years worked in diverse media outlets and platforms in broadcast, print and new media in India. He has led editorial teams, enabling, empowering and engaging them to produce exclusive, cutting edge news content, investigative reportage and documentaries. His team at Canary Trap regularly contributes stories on green initiatives in India.
